Point Blank are renowned specialists in providing music, media and arts activities for young people, and were voted 'Best Music Production and DJ College' for six years running at the industry T-Scan Awards. Our innovative courses have been designed in consultation with young people to ensure maximum appeal, and are taught by talented tutors who have experience both in the industry and in teaching young people.

There are two possible pathways for delivery of Alternative Learning/Complimentary Curriculum. The specific day/s on which sessions take place can be decided in consultation with schools. There are up to 20 places on each module. As standard, the course will be delivered for 1 day a week, normally within school hours. However, as we endeavour to be flexible in the delivery of our training, we can provide more or less frequent sessions as required, and can deliver sessions out of school hours.

The programme lasts for one year, though this can be extended or reduced as required.

OCN
The activities for young people will consist of a series of 30-hour accredited music, media and arts modules. Each module will run for 1 day a week for 5-weeks, following a successful model of work with Bexley Business Academy.

NCFE
The activities for young people will consist of a selection of  accredited courses ranging from 30 to 120 hours long and running throughout the academic year for a total of 36 weeks. Point Blank currently runs a similar course with great success as part of the Key Stage 4 Engagement Programme in Hackney and Islington schools.

For both pathways, the frequency, length and timing of the sessions can be designed to suit your needs.

You can choose which subjects to make up your course from the list at the left hand side of this page.

Entry Requirements

Participants are required to be 14 years and over in order to achieve accreditation, though we can provide for younger students too.  Students require basic literacy, numeracy and ICT skills.  Otherwise, our modules will appeal to students of all backgrounds.Every student will work towards a nationally recognised qualification: Point Blank offer OCN or NCFE accreditation at levels 1, 2 and 3.
