PUPILS hit the right note last week as they wowed parents with a song about their school. Budding artists from Daubeny Primary School in Lower Clapton showed off their songwritting skills with a song called we can do it, which they hope will become the schools signature song.
The nine and 10-year-olds have been attending songwritting classes during music lessons and have been working with a community youth project, Point Blank, which helps provide music-based education programmes to young people in the UK.
Point Blank tutor Stella Enoe, who has been holding the workshops at the school in Daubeney Road for several weeks, said she was impressed with what the pupils had come up with.
“Its an urban track which reflects the music tastes of the kids, but its really positive about the school,” she said.
“They performed it beautifully and, hopefully it will be inspiring for those who hear it”.
