Orange teams up with award winning music college Point Blank
Mobile phone giant Orange has teamed up with the award-winning London based music production college Point Blank to organise a series of workshops across the UK. The move is designed to coinside with the launch of Orange’s latest mobile phone service Fireplayer, which allows users to download tracks and remix them by adding effects. The two day workshop aimed at 16-21 year olds will touch down London, Liverpool, Manchester, and Glasgow between August and September.
Fourty selected applicants will be tutored by Point Blank’s production experts, and be taught the basics of audio mixing, recording, sampling, and editing. The best performing student during the workshop will win a three month Point Blank music production scholarship worth £1500. Former student and current Point Blank assistant, Reiss Nicholas said, “point Blank gave me the opportunity to master my production skills on a superb course working with experienced producers.”
“On top of that, Point Blank then employed me as an assistant tutor to actually go back into my community and help others realise their talents”.
