Orange shows commitment to community music with Point Blank

Music is important to Orange as a business and integral to the delivery of the company’s multi media services. A partnership with music culture agency Point Blank, launched last month aims to give something back to the music community, nurturing fresh young musical talent whilst helping Orange stay in touch with the youth market.

Point Blank are the “grassroots” partner, specialising in teaching music production skills via their college in London, regional community music workshops and using the power of music to deliver key messages and commercial objectives. Point Blank are therefore well placed to take the Orange “find Music” initiative into the community with a touring music workshop, around four UK cities. The deal ensures that the expertise and educational materials of Point Blank help spread the word about the new Orange mobile phone mixing device, the “fire Player.”

Forty 16-21 year olds will be selected to take part in a free two day practical workshop in DJ’ing and music production. In addition, the partnership deal sees Orange re-brand a studio at Point Blank’s London HQ as Studio Orange, providing a re-energised environment for the 150 regular day students.
