The Workshop Skills course is aimed at people who are interested in peer education, tutoring or youth work. Learners develop an understanding of diverse learning styles, group dynamics, effective communication and different modes of teaching.

- The role of a teacher and group dynamics.
- Learning and teaching strategies, types and application.
- Effective communication.
- Learning aids and resources.
- Motivation and preparation.
- Planning lessons (objectives and outcomes), differentiation and pacing.
- Assessment - reasons and purpose of assessment (formative assessment and summative assessment) and assessment methods
- Classroom management - disruptive behaviour, inclusion & equality.
- Micro-teaching sessions (OCN LR test).
- Micro-teaching sessions (OCN LR test).
This OCN LR course is worth 3 credits (30 hours of learning) at Levels 2 & 3
