Case Study: Radio Production - Digital Women's Club
Point Blank is proud to be part of the Digital Women's Club: a consortium of training providers and other organisations led by the Creative Industries Development Agency. The LDA and ESF are funding the project which supports underemployed women to launch careers within creative digital industries, through provision of training, seminars, networking events and business support. Point Blank are providing training in Music Production, DJ Skills and Radio Production at our college in Hoxton. We aim for at least 36% of the women who take courses with us to enter into employment as a result. We record their development at least every three months for the duration of the 18-month project.
Progression
Gemma Cairney took a Radio Production course as part of the Digital Women's Club project and now presents a regular show called ‘Festival Fever' on Channel 4's 4Radio.
