Case Study: London Borough of Redbridge - The Klick Songwriting Taster Session

Point Blank has worked in partnership with Redbridge Arts Service for a number of years delivering a variety of Creative and Media projects in the borough, through funding from the Arts Council. The latest project is the Klick, for 14 – 19 year olds, and Foyer residents over the age of 19.

Ilfomation and the Foyer hosted a launch event including Digital Art and MC Skills tasters, and four accredited courses: Music Production, Digital Video Production, Singing & Songwriting and Performance Skills. Offered alongside the free accredited courses was creative mentoring, giving enthusiastic and promising young people one-to-one guidance on improving their skills and making it in the industry.

The singing and songwriting taster session got participants playing different instruments such as drums and piano, lyric writing and singing, and learning performance skills. At the end of the session in the evening showcase they played a song they had written and recorded during the taster. Take a look at the day in pictures below:
