MC Skills

The MC "Live" Skills course is another of Point Blank’s courses for young people that caters for all levels of ability; covering lyric-writing, rhyming, freestyling, battling, microphone technique and song composition, as well as ‘The History of Hip Hop Culture'. Young people are encouraged to perform their original lyrics live at the end of the course. Point Blank encourages positivity in all lyrics at all times as with all our course content. This course is for all levels and covers lyric-writing, rhyming, freestyling, battling, mic technique and song composition, as well as ‘The History of Hip Hop Culture'. Young people are encouraged to perform their original lyrics live at the end of the course.

Course Breakdown

• Getting to know you
• MIC control
• Lyric writing, free styling and flow
• MCing with DJ set up
• Choosing beat and developing a rap song
•  Writing and intro to recording vocals for song
• Recording rap song
• Mixing down and arranging Mix CD
• Rehearsal and organising show
• OCN LR test & performing show and receiving a copy of the Mix CD

This OCN LR course is  worth 3 credits (30 hours of learning) at Levels 1 & 2
