On the Photography Course, learners of all abilities will gain practical insights into the techniques, equipment and software involved in producing professional quality photographs. Participants will have access to sophisticated equipment to help create a final project of work showcasing the skills they have learnt.

- Introduction to a range of recording media - film cameras, digital SLRs
- Explore aperture and shutter speed
- Learn about tripods and camera set up
- Learn camera shots – wide angle, telephoto, zoom and macro
- Learn about depth of field
- Lighting set up, filters and flash
- Digital manipulation with Adobe Photoshop
Creative
- Explore elements of composition, visual theme, mood and style
- Learn to recognise the relationship between meaning and images
- Learn how to select a subject and use photography to tell a story
- Using focus for artistic ends
- Understand the way creative lighting can enhance a photograph
