Point Blank is the most innovative community music, media and arts education centre, providing activities for hard to reach young people in the UK. It has been voted six years running ‘Best Music Production and DJ College' by DJ Magazine. All of our tutors have a wealth of experience and have worked with major artists: the Sugababes, Leftfield, Massive Attack, Neneh Cherry and Natalie Imbruglia to name but a few.
We reach a broad cross section of young people, spanning secondary school pupils to youth who are unlikely to be engaged in education, employment or training. Our non-formal learning courses are a fantastic vehicle to get young people back into a learning environment, away from destructive influences. As well as participation on the courses, Point Blank offers young people progression routes in the form of work placements, scholarships and links to industry employers.
We are currently working with local authority arts and youth services to create long-term strategic partnerships which provide whole boroughs with exciting streams of activities for young people including music and arts projects from our portfolio. Point Blank is supported by organisations such as PAYP, the Arts Council and Youth Music, and we often have up to 50 concurrent projects taking place all over the UK.
We run a wide range of different activities for young people in the community which you can see by browsing 'Courses' at the left hand side of this page. As one of the most flexible creative training organisations in the UK we can provide everything from just a few taster workshops to 3-year long programmes and everything in between. Accredited courses run for a minimum of 30 hours while the longer-term programmes are constructed from a range of NCFE and OCN LR accredited courses.
We work with you to create carefully tailored projects which incorporate our courses but can be theme-driven or based around a particular outcome. If you are not sure which course will suit you best we can provide you with a chance for them to try our different activities for young people out in a ‘Taster Day'
We can deliver after-school workshops, term-time programmes, holiday residentials... whatever is going to work for you. We have a wide pool of the very best tutors and flight-cased equipment ready to go, so in terms of resource and flexibility, we can always accommodate your needs.
