Case Study: Music Workshops - Metropolitan Police - Anti Crime Initiative

karrot-foundPoint Blank partnered with the Metropolitan Police to deliver music workshops in schools and youth clubs across the Borough of Southwark. The album ‘Found' was recorded as a result of these workshops. Producer Ian Mckenzie took mobile music studios to youth clubs throughout Southwark, encouraging local talent to make a positive statement through music. 10 tracks were recorded and 1000 copies of the album were pressed and distributed. The Metropolitan Police used the first track on the album ‘Gunz (Have Got To Go)' as the theme for the Anti-Gun Crime Conference at the Ministry of Sound. Point Blank run many similar activities for young people every year which result in new recorded music.

Within 6 months of this project starting the Metropolitan Police released figures showing a 27% decrease in crime in the area.
