Case Study: London Borough of Enfield - First Light Movies

In a recent project, 45 young people from Enfield took part in a film production project funded by First Light Movies, forming three film crews.

Inspired by the success of Kidulthood, the storylines for Magical Michael, Love Fools and A Voice of Hope were devised by young people from the youth engagement panel that Point Blank set up and consulted with throughout the project.

To further develop their film-making skills, participants took part in OCN-accredited Film-Making courses and a celebrity Masterclass with Chook Sibtain (Dr Who, Robin Hood).

These films were then exhibited at Millfield Art Theatre as part of a showcase event:  “First Light Night at the Movies”, to celebrate all the hard work of everyone involved.  Three participants were awarded scholarships for a three-month course at Point Blank Music and Media college.

One of the films produced on the project, Magical Michael, can be viewed above.
