Case Study: London Borough of Islington - Radical Roots

Between February and June 2009, Point Blank delivered a Heritage Lottery Funded project with Islington Museum, designed to help local young people develop music and media skills while learning more about Islington’s radical history.

The project included four accredited courses, in Music Production, Radio Production, Digital Art and Film Production; each course had a theme, varying from Lenin and communism to suffragettes and the CND.

All work created by the participants was exhibited at Islington Museum, and open to the public from July – September 2009

“The young people involved have worked really hard to explore the rich history of their local area and produce an exciting and thought-provoking exhibition.” Jo Reilly, Head of Participation and Learning at the Heritage Lottery Fund
