Case Study: Streetdance - Popla HARCA
Point Blank delivered a number of workshops for Poplar HARCA (Housing and Regeneration Community Association) in East London as part of their holiday scheme. These workshops ran at the Teviot and Linc Centres and introduced around nearly 50 young people to MC Skills and Streetdance.
Point Blank’s tutors wasted no time in passing on their skills to their groups of enthusiastic learners; young MCs were taught the basics of lyric-writing, rhyming and rhythm, and dancers were shown simple hip hop moves, which were put together to form a final choreographed piece.
“The children and staff enjoyed the session very much; we even performed the dance as part of our drama performance at the end of scheme celebration event.” - Victoria Coakley, Centre Project Worker
